Finance Performance Manager, Manchester: up to £35,000 + Benefits

On behalf of a large nationwide public sector Trust based in Manchester, we are recruiting for a Finance and Performance Manager to join a large Business Partner function to provide strategic support for projects and initiatives. This role will play a key part in supporting the delivery of one of the largest and impactful initiatives in the Trust's history. The role will lead on the financial management, preparing and analysis of this and other projects ensuring that all financial data is accurate and meets the needs of both Funders and the Trust. The role will work with key stakeholders, wider project teams and Trust staff to ensure risk are highlighted and dealt with.

Main Duties:

  • Lead on the financial management of the Fund initiative and ensure this major initiative is fully integrated within Greater Manchester business plans and financials
  • Lead on robust financial analysis of new and innovative ways of working and provide Management Information and advice for decision making
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial management for the Fund initiative and other projects and prepare and present monthly management packs, analysis and commentary
  • Work with the central Trust Finance, Performance and Impact teams to develop, deliver and interpret standard and ad hoc management and performance information
  • Ensure full value and impact of this Fund initiative is recognized including match funding, gifts in kind, sustainable Greater Manchester Legacy
  • Ensure project financial information is accounted for within Trust budgets and reforecasts
  • Monitor and report on performance against the contract

Person Specification:

  • CCAB part or fully qualified
  • Knowledge and understanding of public sector and private sector contracts
  • Strong financial and contract management skills
  • Experience of analysis for decision making, budgets, reforecasts and audit requirements
  • Financial management skills
  • Experience in forecasting and budgeting on Cognos, Sun and MS Excel
  • Experience of preparing and updating funding budget profiles in MS Excel
  • Experience of prepayments, accruals, deferrals and restricted funds
