Head of Finance Transformation (2 Year FTC) up to £82,000 + Benefits, London

We're recruiting a Head of Finance Transformation for a Government organisation in London. Reporting to the Director of Resources, the Head of Finance Transformation will deliver an optimised finance function and drive wider Corporate Services transformation. The role will rebuild trust with stakeholders by ensuring effective engagement, open communications and a robust performance management framework. The Head of Finance Transformation will project manage and bring to life the remodelled and redesigned finance function.

Main Duties:

  • Review, redefine and implement the finance target operating model
  • Develop a performance management framework and KPI suite
  • Build and develop relationships across Corporate Services and the organisation to test future-proofing the Finance offer and embed the new finance function, including new structures, new systems and processes
  • Project manage the transformation and facilitate and control all business activities
  • Lead the defining and development of a culture change and brand following consultation
  • Work with Heads of Service to develop a unified Finance Capability offer
  • Optimise end-to-end finance processes focusing on cross-team, matrix working to deliver outcomes and ensure control optimisation
  • Focus on all finance enablers and improve intelligent finance systems to ensure fit with finance processes and strategy
  • Deliver re-branded cultural statement for Corporate Services
  • Deliver new PO and Contract Management system
  • Deliver increased satisfaction in services
  • Produce regular management and Board reports on programme status
  • Deliver improved customer-focused process design and system delivery

Person Specification:

  • Experience of working on finance function transformation
  • Experience of working in a challenging project environment having project managed systems change
  • Experienced in presenting finance for non-finance professionals and experienced in public speaking
  • Strong MS Office skills including MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience of working in the Civil Service
  • Outstanding influencing, negotiating, leadership, initiative, proactivity and resilience skills
  • ACCA, ACA or CIMA Qualified
