A Multi Academy Trust in South East London are seeking a Payroll and Pensions Officer. With offices in SE London, the successful candidate must be happy to travel to other sites in London and Kent (c25% time). This organisation offer a lot including:

The role

This is a highly visible role within the organisation where you will support the timely and transparent processing of the payroll. You will ensure that appropriate evidence is obtained to approve payroll (outsourced) and the accurate regulatory reporting of pensions and salaries to HMRC. This will include:

  • Validate data provided to the payroll outsourcer
  • Liaise with the organisation and payroll provider to ensure payroll data is accurate
  • Perform checks on the accuracy of the payroll and sign off
  • Prepare payroll reports to the SMT
  • Ensure correct reporting to HMRC, pension schemes and other statutory bodies
  • Prepare and submit childcare vouchers
  • Upload monthly payroll report to the finance system
  • Administer payrolls schemes such as STLs, Cycle to work and Computer loans
  • Prepare SMP and P11D returns
  • Pensions - provide all needed information to the pension providers
  • Prepare leaver forms
  • Liaise with pension schemes on any queries
  • To act as the contact for all internal staff payroll and pension queries



To be considered:

  • You will have relevant experience working within a payroll department
  • Have an understanding of pension scheme administration
  • Experience of liaising with external auditors and submitting regulatory returns
  • Experience within education and academies would be useful although not essential. Candidates from all industries would be considered if you have relevant payroll experience
