Senior Financial Accountant: £45,000 - £48,000 + Benefits (London or Manchester)

For a global organisation, we're recruiting a Senior Financial Accountant for the Corporate Team which includes Finance, HR, IT, Global Estates, Strategy and Corporate Affairs, Partnerships and Digital. The Senior Financial Accountant will manage end-to-end accounting processes across the Corporate Teams including month-end and year-end close. The SEnior Financial Accountant can be based in either Manchester or London and will be managing a team of 2

Main Duties:

  • Manage, motivate and lead a team of 2 staff remotely where required
  • Manage the financial month-end process, reporting to the UK Financial Controller for the pre-month closing and month end closing steps
  • Review and monitor all accounting transactions and adjustments (accruals, prepayments, deferrals, intercompany)
  • Payroll monitoring and direct cost assignment journal postings
  • Cashflow forecasting and reporting across contracts and activities
  • Ensuring performance of reconciliations of all relevant accounts
  • Review reconciliations for all control accounts including Payroll to balance sheet accounts, ensuring variances are investigated
  • Support annual work with external audit and be point of call for queries
  • Monitor progress against audit
  • Develop and implement effective finance process, standards and tools
  • Oversee requests for new Master Data items (Profit Centre, Cost Centre etc)
  • Ensure Travel and Expenses policy is maintained
  • Manage recharges processes and support on intercompany
  • Manage capital assets additions, disposals and depreciations

Person Specification:

  • CCAB qualified accountant
  • Experience of simplifying, improving processes for account reconciliations and month-end
  • Experience leading on year-end closing for a large geographical region or globally
  • SAP experience
  • ERP system experience
  • Experience of managing a diverse group of stakeholders globally
  • Proven staff leadership experience, ideally remotely
  • Ability to develop and propose accounting solutions to non-compliant reporting
  • Experience of providing advice on process improvement
