A rapidly expanding and UK-headed insurance group are looking to make the first hire in tax.
Reporting to senior finance stakeholders, this position is purposed to bring tax in-house and will involve the design and implementation of a best-in-class group tax operating model. Responsibilities will be all-encompassing for the management of tax strategy and compliance processes, however specifics include:
- Consulting on strategy and providing tax advice to senior finance and commercial stakeholders as relating to tax
- Design and maintenance of an effective tax strategy for global business operations
- Oversight of the compliance process for all taxes impacting the group and managing the relationship with external advisors
- Liaison with auditors and tax authorities
- Management of cash tax for quarterly and year-end reporting. Review of consolidated effective tax rate forecasts and providing routine tax information for group reporting purposes
- Oversight of transfer pricing arrangements and international taxes across varied jurisdictions
- Leading on tax considerations for continuous M&A and strategic projects.
This is a superb opportunity for an experienced Senior Tax Manager holding in-house Head of Tax aspirations. While the position has no direct reports initially, this business is experiencing rapid growth and multiple direct reports will be required as the in-house tax function becomes increasingly established.
What we are looking for:
- ACA/CTA qualification essential
- Post-qualified experience - the successful candidate is likely an experienced Senior Tax Manager with in-house Head of Tax aspirations
- Experience within the financial services is essential; experience within insurance strongly preferred
- Extensive experience with corporate taxes essential, and additional experience of indirect taxes (VAT, IPT) and dealing with transactions advantageous
- Excellent communication and stakeholder skills
- The right to work permanently in the UK is essential
