Historically the company had only ever had a tax function in the US so they needed a strong Tax Manager to be able to come in and take ownership for tax in the UK as well as being able to manage their time effectively and be part of the team across different jurisdictions.
After meeting with the US team and finance in the UK who the person would sit with I formed a solid understanding of what they needed both technically and personally.
After identifying 21 suitable matches across the market I made approaches and shortlisted 10 candidates who I met and interviewed against the spec. I presented 5 CVs to client for interview 3 of whom were taken forward to second stage.
Working closely with the team in the US by working on site and utilising their in house video conferencing system we were able to communicate effectively so the process ran quickly and smoothly.
We found the perfect person for the role and he has since been over to the States and has become a pivotal member of the business
