What the role involves:

  • Supervising an audit-focused portfolio of clients.
  • Directing the preparation of financial statements compliant with FRS102 and IFRS.
  • Executing audits independently and meeting deadlines with minimal oversight.
  • Participating actively in client meetings and providing valuable contributions.
  • Nurturing and advancing emerging audit talent within the team.
  • Managing the financial aspects of the portfolio, including WIP, billing, and debt control.
  • Engaging in business development initiatives, cultivating existing contacts, and establishing new relationships.
  • Sustaining a high level of technical proficiency and autonomously resolving research-based issues.

What I need from you:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent.
  • Experienced in audit-focused roles within accountancy practice.
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting and auditing standards.
  • Skilled in leading group audits and preparing consolidated accounts.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Effective project management and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Produces high-quality work, adept at problem-solving.
  • Organised, capable of managing high work volumes efficiently.
  • Identifies growth opportunities within client base and service lines.
  • Actively supports team development.
  • Desirable: Familiarity with CaseWare or Mercia methodologies.
