Our client, a prominent accountancy firm in Belfast, is seeking a highly experienced Audit Partner to play a leading role in their growing audit team. This is an exciting opportunity to take a senior leadership role within a well-respected firm, overseeing a varied client portfolio and ensuring the delivery of high-quality audits across multiple sectors. As an Audit Partner, you will be responsible for driving the audit function forward, maintaining the firm's strong reputation in the marketplace, and playing a key role in the strategic development of the practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a portfolio of audit clients across a range of industries, ensuring all engagements are delivered to the highest standards of quality and compliance.
- Act as the Responsible Individual (RI), reviewing and signing off audits in line with UK regulatory standards, including ISA (UK) and FRC guidelines.
- Build and strengthen client relationships, offering strategic advice on audit, risk management, and governance matters, and becoming a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders.
- Play a key role in business development, identifying and pursuing opportunities to expand the firm's audit client base, both locally and regionally.
- Develop and implement strategies to grow the audit practice, ensuring alignment with the overall business objectives of the firm.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to the audit team, ensuring effective performance management and professional development to maintain a high-performing team.
- Take responsibility for the financial management of your client portfolio, ensuring engagements are completed efficiently and profitably.
- Collaborate with other partners and teams within the firm to provide integrated service offerings, ensuring a seamless experience for clients.
- Stay informed on regulatory developments and changes within the audit profession, ensuring the firm's audit practice remains compliant and ahead of industry best practices.
Qualifications/Experience Required:
- ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with RI status.
- Extensive experience leading audit engagements at Partner or Director RI level, ideally within a mid to large-sized accountancy practice.
- Strong technical expertise in UK audit regulations and standards, including ISA (UK) and FRC requirements.
- Proven ability to develop and manage client relationships, providing strategic advice and maintaining high levels of client satisfaction.
- Demonstrable business development skills, with a track record of winning new clients and expanding service offerings.
- Excellent leadership and management skills, with experience in developing and mentoring audit teams.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage with senior stakeholders and present complex audit issues in a clear and concise manner.
- A commercial and strategic mindset, with the ability to contribute to the long-term growth and success of the firm.
