Audit Partner - Essex

An established and forward-thinking accountancy practice in Essex is seeking an Audit Partner to join its senior leadership team. This is a hands-on, strategic role, offering the opportunity to take immediate ownership of an existing audit portfolio focused on owner-managed businesses and SMEs. The role is ideal for an experienced Audit Director or Partner looking to make a tangible impact from day one, drive client growth, and help shape the firm's strategic direction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take full ownership of an existing audit portfolio, ensuring high-quality delivery and excellent client service.
• Build and strengthen relationships with key clients, acting as their trusted adviser.
• Identify opportunities to grow audit work and support business development initiatives.
• Provide technical leadership and ensure compliance with UK auditing standards and internal quality procedures.
• Mentor and develop the audit team, fostering talent and supporting succession planning.

Qualifications/Experience Required:

• RI status with a recognised UK professional body (e.g. ICAEW or ACCA), with experience at Director or Partner level.
• Strong technical audit expertise, particularly with owner-managed businesses and SMEs.
• Proven track record in client management, business development, and delivering results.
• Leadership experience, including team management and mentoring.
• Commercially minded, proactive, and collaborative, with the drive to influence the firm's growth.
