PARTNER & EMPLOYMENT TAX MANAGER
My Client is the leading Financial & Professional Services Group with over 186 years of experience in helping generations of people and businesses to thrive. With £56 billion of assets under management, they offer an extensive range of financial and professional services to individuals, family trusts, professional intermediaries, charities and businesses.
What we are looking for:
- Managing the partner tax compliance cycle, including but not limited to:
- Assisting in managing the team to ensure completion of all tax returns for engaged clients in a tax cycle
- First review of tax returns
- Drafting advice around tax implications of partner matters including share unit awards and pension contributions
- Assist in managing tax aspects of the partner pay process, preparation of partner end of year statements and payments of partners' tax to HMRC.
Assist with:
- Implementing Basis Period Reform and the resulting necessary process changes
- Implementing, in due course, MTD
- Liaising, as required, with National Tax and other areas of the business
- Monitoring and managing execution of other reporting requirements, e.g. the Trust Registration Service, claims and elections
- Drafting IHT planning and other ad hoc tax advice requested by partners
Assist with Group employment tax matters including:
- Group Tax's overview of the P11D and PAYE settlement processes (which are run within the wider Group Finance team) including initial review of the returns and assistance with technical queries from the return preparers
- the tax implications and reporting requirements around short term business visitors and internationally mobile employees
- considering implications of changes in legislation and interpretations
- Ad hoc queries
- Ad hoc projects as required
Ideal Qualifications:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CA/Equivalent) and/or ATT / CTA
- Experience gained within the profession and/or financial services, including experience of managing others
- Solid base of tax technical knowledge plus willingness and aptitude to research and draft advice in new areas
