This team are the market leading team in the professional practices space, advising the majority of the top UK headquartered and US inbound law firms alongside a growing number of non-law firm professional practices (e.g. consultancy businesses, architects etc). They focus on building long-lasting relationships with the most influential professional practices, advising them on all of their tax affairs.
The demand for their specialist knowledge within this sector means that they have the immediate need to expand their London team at the Assistant Manager & Manager level, with opportunity for progression. They are specifically seeking candidates who have a passion for the professional practices sector and want to become part of a market leading team.

Your role
You will have responsibility for providing technical advice across a wide range of projects including international expansion and restructuring, transatlantic structures, mergers and acquisitions, tax governance and control, finance / tax technology transformations, and a broad range of domestic and international tax issues relevant to the professional practices sector (e.g salaried members and mixed members legislation, international remote workers, permanent establishment queries). You will also have responsibility for managing the year end tax processes for the largest UK headquartered and US inbound law firms, giving you invaluable insight into the heart of their client's operations.
They work within a wider team of subject matter experts across their Global Employer Services, VAT, Tax Depreciation and Transfer Pricing practices, and you will be encouraged to co-ordinate tax advice across their specialist teams and have knowledge of key issues across other taxes. They also lead the client relationships across their international network by supporting and co-ordinating services from multiple locations.
Your role will be diverse and challenging, and you will take the lead on delivering client services and developing client relationships, as well as playing an active part in building new relationships and winning work.
You will be a confident team player and enjoy sharing your knowledge and expertise with others, as well as continuing to build your own technical expertise or specialism. Your responsibilities will include managing diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution.
As part of your role, you will receive continuous on the job training, including direct interaction with the partners and directors in the team, as well as extensive opportunities to interact with clients and targets. You will have people management responsibilities, including developing junior members of the team and may act as a coach for more junior members of the team.
Your skills and professional experience:
Successful candidates will have:
- ACA, ATT, CTA or equivalent qualifications
- UK corporate or personal tax experience gained within a practice firm, a legal firm or industry
- Experience of working with professional practice partnerships, or experience of working with private businesses and a strong interest in advising professional practice clients
- Strong technical skills across broad range of corporate/individual tax areas
- Experience of owning a portfolio of clients and the ability to form and maintain strong client relationships.
- Strong people/leadership skills and experience of developing others
- Commercial awareness and the desire to understand your clients' businesses
