We are working on behalf of a renowned UK accountancy firm, currently seeking a high-calibre Audit Partner with a focus on Public Interest Entities (PIEs). This is a rare opportunity to join an established firm at Partner level, leading audit engagements with some of the UK's most high-profile clients. As an Audit Partner, you will be at the forefront of driving audit excellence, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while providing valuable insights to PIE clients. This role offers the chance to make a tangible impact, working within a firm recognised for its innovative approach and commitment to quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead audit engagements for a portfolio of high-profile public interest entities, ensuring compliance with UK regulatory and professional standards.
  • Provide strategic direction to the audit practice, particularly within the public interest sector, contributing to the firm's long-term growth.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor to Boards, Audit Committees, and senior stakeholders.
  • Stay abreast of changes in audit regulations, ensuring the firm remains compliant with the latest standards, including those from the Financial Reporting Council (FRC).
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of talented audit professionals, ensuring delivery of high-quality audits that meet client expectations.
  • Drive business development initiatives, expanding the firm's client base within the public interest sector and capitalising on new opportunities.
  • Collaborate with other partners and leadership across the firm to ensure a cohesive, client-focused approach.

Qualifications/Experience Required:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with Responsible Individual (RI) status.
  • Significant experience as an Audit Partner or Director RI, with a focus on PIEs or listed entities.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK audit regulations, including ISA (UK), the UK Corporate Governance Code, and FRC requirements.
  • Proven track record of managing and developing audit teams, delivering exceptional client service, and maintaining the highest professional standards.
  • Commercial acumen with the ability to drive business growth and identify new opportunities in the public interest sector.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with senior stakeholders and presenting complex audit findings in a clear and concise manner.
  • A strategic thinker, with the ability to anticipate regulatory changes and ensure the firm is well-positioned to respond.
