Join this leading Midland based Financial Service firm working in an established team as the Corporate Tax Manager, reporting to the divisional Tax Director. In this pivotal role, you will oversee tax compliance for a portfolio of entities within our group, supporting various projects, managing tax risks, and applying your technical and business acumen to support senior management decision-making.
While the primary focus of this role is to ensure complete and accurate tax compliance, the ideal candidate will also assume a mentoring role for junior team members and cultivate trusted relationships, becoming a valued business partner. Your responsibilities will encompass influencing the business to seek tax advice early on, ensuring that the advice aligns with our business needs, and taking the lead on small to mid-sized projects, such as business restructures and new customer propositions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the UK tax compliance process for a diverse portfolio of group entities, including holding companies, financing providers to operating entities, service companies, and small trading and investment firms.
- Nurturing our relationship with HMRC for these companies, handling correspondence and inquiries effectively.
- Overseeing group-wide tax compliance requirements, including group relief, corporate interest restriction, and country-by-country reporting.
- Providing support for non-UK compliance work in jurisdictions where our group has operations or investments, collaborating with advisors as needed.
- Offering input into projects and assisting the business in matters related to the aforementioned entities.
- Collaborating with and fostering the professional growth of junior team members.
This position presents an exceptional opportunity for newly qualified tax professionals seeking to transition from a practice environment to an in-house role, whether it's their first or second career move.
The successful candidate should possess:
- ACA/CTA qualification
- Demonstrated experience in a corporate taxation-focused role
- Ideally, 3-5 years of cumulative experience in a "large-corporates" tax environment, either in-house or while providing professional services and auditing for such corporations
- While advantageous, sector-specific experience within insurance, asset management, or the broader financial services field is not mandatory.
- The legal right to work permanently in the UK is a prerequisite.
Take the next step in your tax career by joining this dynamic team as the Corporate Tax Manager. Your expertise will be invaluable in shaping our tax compliance and strategy, and you'll have the chance to mentor and guide emerging professionals in a collaborative, supportive environment.
