Job Title: VAT Manager - In house - Financial Services

Location: City of London

Overview:

An international insurance company are seeking an experienced VAT Manager to oversee all VAT-related functions within the company. The role involves ensuring compliance with VAT regulations, optimising VAT processes, and providing expert advice on VAT matters specific to the insurance industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• VAT Compliance:

  • Manage and submit accurate VAT returns on time.
  • Ensure compliance with VAT laws and adapt to changes in legislation.

• VAT Advisory:

  • Advise on VAT implications for products, services, and transactions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on VAT-related issues in contracts and business initiatives.

• Audit & Risk Management:

  • Lead VAT audits and manage interactions with tax authorities.
  • Implement risk management strategies to mitigate VAT-related risks.

• Process Improvement:

  • Streamline VAT reporting processes for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Integrate VAT considerations into broader financial processes.

• Training & Knowledge Sharing:

  • Provide VAT training and updates to internal teams.

Qualifications:

• Relevant accounting and/or tax certification.

Skills & Experience:

• Preferably trained with a Big-4 firm.
• At least five years of specialised experience in VAT.
• Familiarity with VAT regulations for international insurance services is advantageous.
• Proven track record in enhancing and managing VAT processes and controls.
• Ability to work within the UK
