We spoke to Pat about what he looks for in people joining the Pro-Legal Team. Read more below!
Our team is predominantly made up of experienced legal recruiters. We have decades worth of experience between us and, as such, we have developed an extensive network in the UK legal market.
The team focuses on placing qualified lawyers, from NQ to Partner level into roles at a range of firms. We work with Magic Circle, Silver Circle, US, Global, National, West End, and Boutique Firms. Consultants in the team generally have their own areas of expertise, which mainly include corporate, tax, private client, intellectual property, real estate, TMT, funds, litigation, banking & finance and employment.
We are a very friendly and supportive team and celebrate the successes of every member of the team. We have some consultants with incredible market knowledge, therefore when a consultant asks for ideas, help, new approaches etc., they are always rewarded with support and assistance from the rest of the team. We are all focused on developing our own personal brands as well as ProLegal’s brand and work hard to develop our already extensive network.
Our vision is to continue to build our brand in the legal market in order to become one of the most synonymous names with legal recruitment out there. This is not an easy task, however, we are making strides towards this vision by doing our job well and providing honest, informative and supportive advice to our clients and candidates.
We have a mature working environment whereby consultants are given the flexibility to run their own desks and focus on the areas of the market that they enjoy and can make them successful. This is not a heavily KPI focused environment. Consultants know the level of activity that they need to achieve in order to be a success and they motivate themselves in order to do so. The legal private practice market is definitely candidate-driven, therefore attracting the best quality lawyers is our main priority.
Some previous recruitment experience, as well as knowledge of the legal market and the various legal practice areas, would be great to have for any new recruit. However, this can be taught (and, with our collective experience, is taught to a very high level). What you cannot teach is a positive attitude, self-motivation and a desire to succeed. Above all else, these three qualities will make you a good recruiter and a good addition to the team.
