Bright Grahame Murray Case Study

Article Background

THE CLIENT

Bright Grahame Murray is a London based accountancy firm established in 1934. They offer a comprehensive range of services including taxation. They work across a broad range of sectors.

THE CHALLENGE

Robert Moore, the Managing Partner, got in touch as there had been a considerable growth of work in the Corporate Tax Team. He wanted someone at Assistant Manager level who would be able to manage compliance and also deliver on advisory and planning. With such demand for this type of candidate, it was not an easy task.

OUR SOLUTION

Having already placed five employees in the business (three in the Corporate Tax team) and having met with Partners in the business on a number of occasions, I had a clear idea of the type of individual who would work well there. I also arranged a meeting with Robert to update on current plans in the firm in order to be able to sell the role and differentiate it from other opportunities in the market at the same level. I sent seven candidates to Bright Grahame Murray of which four were interviewed, and one had been offered the role (and sadly rejected for another position) before continuing with the search until I sent the successful candidate who had been looking for a mid-tier practice where she could broaden her experience.

FOLLOW UP

The successful candidate is delighted with her new job, we are staying in close contact throughout her long notice period and have booked in lunch to celebrate. We supported her through handing her notice in and how to manage the relationship with her current team in the interim period.
