Giving Back at Pro Recruitment:
Building More Than a Team
One of the things we love most about being part of the Pro Recruitment family is the unique culture we’ve built together. It’s more than just a workplace; it’s a team that genuinely enjoys spending time together, working hard, and lifting each other up. We believe in boosting wellbeing, inspiring one another, and building stronger connections, not just within the office, but in the communities we serve.
When we have the opportunity to support local causes, it’s something we all embrace wholeheartedly. Volunteering, supporting charities, and making a real difference is important to everyone at Pro. It reminds us of the power of community, teamwork, and what we can achieve when we come together for a shared purpose.
Volunteering at Idia’s Community Kitchen: A Day of Action & Impact
A Hands-On Day in Hackney - One of our most recent volunteering experiences was at Idia’s Community Kitchen in Hackney, a grassroots charity doing extraordinary work to tackle food poverty. Their mission is simple but powerful: ‘No one should go hungry, food waste should be reduced, and everyone is family’.
Seeing Community in Action - During our day there, we were struck by the generosity of local businesses donating surplus food that might otherwise have gone to waste. It was an eye-opening reminder of the real need within the community. What truly inspired us, however, was seeing how Idia’s Community Kitchen goes beyond providing immediate support, they also invest in the future of Hackney’s young people, offering mentorship and guidance to help them build brighter futures.
Inspired to Give Back - Volunteering at Idia’s was an incredibly rewarding experience and reinforced just how crucial grassroots charities are in creating lasting change. A huge thank you to Matchable Volunteering for connecting us with such a fantastic cause, and an even bigger thank you to Idia’s Community Kitchen for welcoming us and letting us be part of the amazing work they do. We left the day feeling grateful for the experience and eager to continue making a difference together in the future.
CSR Day at Calthorpe Community Garden: Growing Together
Rolling Up Our Sleeves for the Community - In the summer of 2025, a team of us swapped our screens for spades to take part in our CSR day at Calthorpe Community Garden. This vibrant 1.2-acre space has been a cornerstone of the King’s Cross community since 1984, providing therapeutic gardening, cooking classes, and sports activities that support both physical and emotional wellbeing. It’s more than a garden, it’s a place where people can connect, grow, and feel part of a caring, inclusive community.
A Day of Action and Teamwork - It was a day of laughter, hard work, and connection, all set against the backdrop of an essential community hub. With the rain approaching, we took a moment (and a cheeky pint) to appreciate what had been achieved throughout the day.
Why Green Spaces Matter - Green spaces like Calthorpe are incredibly important; they create a sense of belonging, offer a place for people to gather, and help nurture both mental and physical health. We’re proud to have played a part in supporting this special space.
Supporting Child Bereavement UK: A Cause Close to Our Hearts
A Meaningful Partnership - Our commitment to giving back doesn’t stop with volunteering. We are also proud to have partnered with Child Bereavement UK (CBUK), a remarkable charity that supports families navigating the grief of losing a child.
This cause has always been especially meaningful to us at Pro Recruitment, and we’ve seen the profound impact CBUK has on families during their most difficult times. Their work is vital, and we remain deeply honoured to have been able to contribute to their efforts in the past.
Our Charity Ethos
Small Steps, Big Impact - These experiences, from volunteering at Idia’s Community Kitchen and getting our hands dirty at Calthorpe Community Garden, to supporting Child Bereavement UK, reflect what truly matters to us at Pro Recruitment. Our work goes far beyond business; it’s about people, community, and creating positive change where it’s needed most.
Time and again, we see the impact of coming together with a shared purpose. Working as a team for the benefit of others reminds us why giving back is so important, and we’re proud to support charities that do incredible work within our communities.
Charity sits at the heart of our ESG strategy, with fundraising and community initiatives shaped and driven by our team. Supporting local causes and organisations close to our hearts is something we genuinely care about, and it’s a responsibility we embrace as a business. Our Charity Committee plays a vital role in bringing these initiatives to life, organising events, raising awareness, and encouraging both our team and the wider community to get involved.
Kindness, empathy and a proactive spirit run through everything we do at Pro Recruitment. From preparing and serving a four-course Christmas lunch for people experiencing homelessness in a warm, welcoming church, to donating essential toiletries to women’s and children’s shelters, we focus on meaningful, hands-on support. Alongside regular donations to local food and clothing banks and our quarterly blood donation drive, these efforts help us make a lasting difference throughout the year.

Environment
We offer virtual and paperless meetings where possible and will help organisations we work with develop a stronger CSR initiative to support their EVP.
We work in an office which has joined forces with Open Energy to purchase green energy in an attempt to halt deforestation and tackle climate change, as well as recycling, we also employ energy-saving tactics, such as motion-sensor lighting, which ensures lights are only on when the corresponding office space is in use.
