An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accounts & Advisory Manager to join a highly regarded and leading independent accountancy firm based in central Cheltenham.

This position sits within a well-established legal sector team, supporting a substantial portfolio of law firms and individual legal professionals. The role offers a blend of client management, advisory work, team leadership, and strategic project involvement, making it ideal for a qualified accountant looking to take the next step in their career within a specialist advisory environment.

Your role as an Accounts & Advisory Manager:

  • Managing a portfolio of law firm clients and overseeing all aspects of their accounting and advisory requirements.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients, responding to day-to-day queries and providing proactive advice.
  • Supervising assignments delivered remotely, from the office, and occasionally at client premises.
  • Leading and supporting advisory projects including practice restructures, valuations, mergers, acquisitions, and succession planning.
  • Working closely with specialist tax colleagues on compliance and planning matters where required.
  • Supervising, mentoring, and developing junior team members.
  • Conducting performance reviews, one-to-one meetings, and supporting training and development initiatives.
  • Contributing to the continued growth and success of the legal services team.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • ACA or ACCA qualification (or equivalent).
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including UK GAAP, Companies Act requirements, and Financial Reporting Standards.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and manage team members effectively.
  • Experience working with law firms would be advantageous but is not essential as full training will be provided.
