A long-established, independent accountancy practice in Buckingham is looking to appoint an Accounts Manager to join their close-knit and growing team. The firm has built a trusted reputation locally over the past three decades, offering a full range of accounting, tax and advisory services to owner-managed businesses, limited companies, partnerships and individuals.

You'll be joining a friendly, stable team consisting of four Directors, two Managers and six Trainees, in a collaborative environment where everyone gets stuck in. This is a firm that values relationships over red tape - no private equity, no politics, just a traditional independent practice where people enjoy coming to work.

As an Accounts Manager, your role will include:

• Managing a varied portfolio of clients across accounts and tax
• Reviewing and preparing limited company, partnership and sole trader accounts
• Reviewing and submitting personal and business tax returns
• Allocating and reviewing work completed by junior team members
• Supporting, training and mentoring six trainees through regular feedback and quarterly development reviews
• Meeting with existing and prospective clients to build relationships and provide proactive advice
• Working closely with senior leadership on ad-hoc projects and advisory work

While some exposure to audit would be beneficial, it's not essential - this is very much a general practice role focused on accounts and tax.

About you:

You'll be ACA or ACCA qualified, ideally with at least one to two years post-qualified experience and strong technical knowledge across accounts and tax. Previous management or supervisory experience is essential, along with a genuine interest in developing others. You'll be personable, professional, and confident communicating with clients at all levels.
