Accounts Manager | Mid-Tier Practice | North West London + Hybrid (Central London Option)
Salary: Up to £75,000 (competitive, depending on experience)
Are you a qualified Accounts Manager looking for a broad, autonomous role in a successful mid-tier firm with real progression potential?
We're working with a well-established accountancy practice in North West London that's planning for the future - with growth, succession, and opportunity firmly on the horizon. With around 75 employees (including a 35-strong accounts team), this firm offers the structure of a mid-sized practice combined with the entrepreneurial feel and agility of a smaller one.
The Opportunity
Due to continued growth, the firm is seeking a qualified Accounts Manager to support one of the founding Partners. You'll take full ownership of a portfolio of unaudited corporate clients (including some groups) across a diverse range of sectors, overseeing statutory accounts and corporation tax work in line with FRS 102.
You'll enjoy full autonomy over your portfolio, while maintaining a close working relationship with the Managing Partner to discuss progress, planning, and key developments. The team structure includes six Managers, a couple of Associate Directors, and a strong group of seniors, semi-seniors, and trainees - ensuring solid support at every level.
What You'll Be Doing
- Managing a diverse client portfolio (including WIP and billing) and maintaining strong, trusted relationships
- Overseeing year-end accounts preparation and corporation tax compliance from planning to completion
- Acting as the main point of contact for client queries, collaborating across departments for joined-up advice
- Onboarding new clients and improving processes for greater workflow efficiency
- Mentoring and supervising junior team members, including review and development discussions
- Contributing to internal planning, billing, and firm-wide initiatives
- Getting involved in ad-hoc projects such as sell-side due diligence and company/group restructures
About You
- ACA/ACCA qualified with at least five years' post-qualified experience
- Trained in, and ideally still working within, a mid-tier or similar-sized practice
- Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP and FRS 102
- Comfortable using CCH and Xero (adjustments, analysis, and review)
- Proactive, organised, and confident communicating with clients and senior stakeholders
- A team player who enjoys autonomy but values collaboration
Location & Working Style
Based in North West London, with flexible hybrid working available. The firm also offers access to 12 Central London hot desks for those who prefer occasional time in a more central setting. While flexibility is supported, a collaborative in-person culture remains key - so occasional travel to the North West London office will be expected.
What's in It for You
This is a genuinely progressive role with a clear route to Associate Director. If you're looking for more influence, variety, and visibility with senior leadership, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
