Accounts Senior - Thame - £40,000 to £50,000

If you're an Accounts Senior who's ready for something a bit more interesting than just "getting the file finished"… this could be a very good move.

This is an excellent Accounts Senior opportunity with a growing, well-backed accountancy practice that's investing heavily in its people, systems, and future leadership team.

Not just the usual "great progression" line that gets slapped on every job advert like parsley on a pub lunch. There is genuine momentum here.

The team is growing, processes are evolving, and this Accounts Senior role offers the chance to join a firm where you can continue developing technically while also building stronger client relationships and taking on more responsibility.

What's different about this Accounts Senior role?

You won't just be given a pile of accounts jobs and left to disappear under them.

You'll be part of a supportive, experienced team, working closely with managers and partners who want people to develop, ask questions, and gradually take ownership.

The client base is varied and genuinely interesting, with exposure to agricultural clients, landed estates, private clients and owner-managed businesses.

So if you enjoy accounts work but want a role with more variety, better support, and a clearer route forward, this could be a strong next step.

The Role

As an Accounts Senior, you'll be involved in:

* Preparing statutory accounts under FRS102, FRS102 1A and FRS105

* Working with a varied portfolio of clients across different sectors

* Preparing corporation tax computations and returns

* Liaising with clients to gather information and resolve queries

* Supporting managers with workflow, deadlines and client delivery

* Reviewing work where appropriate, depending on experience

* Building your technical knowledge and client-facing confidence

* Supporting junior members of the team as you progress

What's on Offer

* £40,000 to £50,000 salary

* Hybrid working - 3 days in the office, 2 from home

* Flexible hours around core working times

* Clear progression towards Assistant Manager and Manager level

* A high-quality, varied client portfolio

* Structured training and development

* 25 days holiday + buy/sell options + flexible bank holidays

* Additional wellbeing day each year

* Full wellbeing support including GP access and counselling

* Health cash plan, EV scheme and enhanced pension options

* Regular social events and a genuinely supportive team

About You

To be considered for this Accounts Senior role, you'll ideally have:

* Experience working within a UK accountancy practice

* Strong accounts preparation experience

* Good UK GAAP knowledge

* Exposure to corporation tax would be useful

* ACA/ACCA qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience

* Confidence speaking with clients directly

* A positive, proactive attitude

* The ability to produce good-quality work while managing deadlines

Agricultural client experience would be useful, but it is not essential.

Why this Accounts Senior role?

Because it gives you room to grow without throwing you into the deep end and shouting "character building" from the side.

You'll get variety, support, flexibility, and a clear route to keep progressing.

If that sounds like the kind of Accounts Senior role you've been waiting for, let's have a conversation.
