An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Senior to join a well-established and growing accountancy practice. This role offers the chance to work with a varied portfolio of clients while developing your technical expertise, building strong client relationships, and supporting the development of junior team members.

What you will be doing as an Accounts Senior

  • Preparing year-end statutory accounts for a range of clients.
  • Preparing corporation tax returns and directors' personal tax returns.
  • Meeting with clients to discuss financial information, accounts and business matters.
  • Reviewing work completed by junior team members and providing constructive feedback.
  • Ensuring all accounts and tax returns are completed accurately and submitted within statutory deadlines.
  • Preparing reports and supporting documentation for senior management review.
  • Mentoring trainees and junior members of the team, supporting their professional development.
  • Managing client workflows to ensure assignments are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Resolving client queries and providing proactive support throughout the accounting process.
  • Identifying opportunities to introduce additional services where appropriate.

What you will need to succeed as an Accounts Senior

  • ACA or ACCA finalist or fully qualified.
  • Previous experience working within an accountancy practice.
  • Strong experience preparing statutory accounts and tax returns.
  • Knowledge of FRS 102, FRS 102 Section 1A and FRS 105.
  • Experience preparing consolidated accounts.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
  • The ability to manage your own workload and work independently.
  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior staff.
  • Experience using cloud accounting software and practice management systems would be advantageous.
