In-House Tax Assistant Manager
Hybrid working model - 2/3 days in the office per week
£65,000 + bonus & benefits
An established and reputable financial services business is looking to add a newly qualified Tax Assistant Manager to their growing team in London.
This position purposed to support the increased international & UK tax demands in light of sustained business growth and M&A activity. Reporting into the UK Tax Director and working closely alongside an experienced tax manager, the successful candidate will hold a broad and corporate tax generalist role.
The position has a UK corporate tax compliance (oversight) emphasis and tax advisory exposure (approximately 50:50 split) and an increasing level of international responsibility.
Specific responsibilities will include:
- Tax reporting (IFRS) and tax return compliance (largely outsourced)
- Review of overseas tax charges
- Supporting in the preparation of transfer pricing reports and country-by-country reporting
- Tax structuring in M&A work
- Working with external advisors on outsourced compliance matters
- Tax forecasting, including tax input to the forecasts and budgets and explaining variances to key stakeholders
- Responding to inbound inquiries from domestic and overseas tax authorities
- Ad-hoc support with VAT returns, preparation of tax journals, and operational/withholding tax matters
This makes an ideal opportunity for the newly qualified tax professional from a Big 4/Top 10 corporate tax team who is looking to broaden their technical remit, in-house.
Candidates invited to interview will demonstrate the following:
- ACA/CTA qualified with the right to work in the UK
- Demonstrable experience and specialism in UK corporate taxation
- Prior experience with tax compliance, reporting (IFRS/US GAAP) and advisory
- Experience of wider taxes a bonus point but not essential
- Experience within the financial services considered advantageous
- The right to work permanently in the UK is required for this position
