A highly regarded and growing accountancy firm is looking to appoint an ambitious Audit Associate to join its expanding Audit team in Manchester.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone in the second or third year of their ACA or ACCA studies to gain exposure to a broad portfolio of clients, including large corporate groups, AIM-listed businesses, owner-managed companies and not-for-profit organisations. What you will be doing as an Audit Associate
Working as part of an experienced audit team, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality statutory audit and assurance assignments, gaining exposure to a varied client base and working closely with Managers and Partners throughout each engagement.
You'll be supported throughout your professional qualification with a full study package while developing your technical knowledge and client management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist on statutory audit assignments from planning through to completion.
- Work with a varied portfolio of clients, including large corporate groups with turnovers up to £500m.
- Prepare and review financial statements for both single entities and group companies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
- Support the development and coaching of trainee team members.
- Work closely with Managers and Partners to deliver high-quality client service.
- Develop your technical knowledge through structured training and on-the-job experience.
The client portfolio is diverse and includes:
- AIM-listed companies
- Large and complex group structures
- Owner Managed Businesses
- Charities and Not-for-Profit organisations
- Businesses with international operations
What you will need to succeed as an Audit Associate
- ACA or ACCA studies in progress (typically second or third year).
- Previous experience within an audit role in an accountancy practice.
- Strong audit experience with exposure to statutory audits.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive and organised approach to work.
- A commercial mindset with a genuine passion for delivering excellent client service.
- Experience using CCH Audit Automation, CCH Accounts Production or Inflo would be advantageous but is not essential.
- A full UK driving licence would be beneficial but is not essential.
