An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Audit Manager to join a well-established and growing Top 20 accountancy firm in Manchester. Following sustained growth, the audit team is expanding and is looking for an ambitious individual who enjoys managing client relationships, leading teams, and delivering high-quality audit services.

What you will be doing as an Audit Manager

  • Managing the full audit process from planning through to completion.
  • Managing client relationships and acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Monitoring project progress, budgets and deadlines.
  • Ensuring all assignments are delivered on time and to a high professional standard.
  • Supervising, mentoring and developing qualified staff and trainees.
  • Working closely with the tax team and other specialist departments.
  • Supporting the delivery of accounts preparation where required.
  • Contributing to one-off assignments, technical projects and advisory work.

The client portfolio is broad and includes:

  • AIM-listed businesses
  • Complex groups with international operations
  • Owner-managed businesses
  • Charities and not-for-profit organisations

What you will need to succeed as an Audit Manager

  • ACA or ACCA qualification.
  • Previous experience in an Audit Manager or Assistant Manager role.
  • A strong audit background within practice (general practice experience also considered).
  • Excellent knowledge of FRS 102 (IFRS experience would be advantageous).
  • Experience managing audit teams and developing junior staff.
  • Strong organisational, communication and leadership skills.
  • A proactive, client-focused approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience of technical projects or specialist assignments would be beneficial.
  • Familiarity with CCH Accounts Production, CCH Audit Automation, Excel and Word is advantageous.
