A well-established and growing accountancy practice is looking to appoint an experienced Audit Manager to join its audit team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA or ACCA qualified auditor who is looking for a role with genuine responsibility for a portfolio of clients, leadership of audit teams and significant client interaction.

The successful candidate will work closely with Senior Managers and Partners, taking ownership of audit assignments and playing an important role in the continued development of the audit team.

What you will be doing as an Audit Manager:

• As Audit Manager, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of audit clients, with individual portfolios worth up to approximately £500k in annual fees.
• Managing a portfolio of audit clients and ensuring assignments are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards
• Taking ownership of audit engagements from planning through to completion
• Ensuring audit files are prepared in accordance with International Standards on Auditing (ISAs)
• Reviewing audit work and ensuring files are ready for Senior Manager and Partner review
• Managing budgets, WIP, billing and recoverability across your portfolio
• Identifying and addressing issues proactively throughout the audit process
• Acting as a key point of contact for clients and developing strong, long-term relationships
• Keeping clients informed throughout the audit process and providing a high level of service
• Identifying opportunities to add value to clients and introducing other services where appropriate
• Leading audit teams effectively, including Assistant Managers and Seniors
• Delegating work appropriately and providing clear direction and support to team members
• Supporting the development, progression and retention of junior members of the team
• Holding regular feedback and development discussions with direct reports
• Supporting departmental training and CPD initiatives
• Working closely with Partners on tenders, pitches and wider business development activity
• Supporting recruitment and interviewing activity where required

What you will need to succeed as an Audit Manager:

• ACA or ACCA qualification (or equivalent)
• At least 2 years' post-qualified experience
• A minimum of 7 years' experience within audit
• Previous experience operating at Audit Manager level within an accountancy practice
• Proven experience managing an audit portfolio
• Strong technical knowledge of auditing standards and regulatory requirements
• Excellent client relationship and communication skills
• Experience leading and developing audit teams
• Strong organisational and project management skills
• The ability to manage multiple assignments, deadlines and priorities effectively
• A professional, collaborative and commercially aware approach
