Audit Partner - Hertford - Independent Firm

We're supporting a highly respected independent accountancy firm with the appointment of an Audit Partner for its office in Hertfordshire. This firm has built a strong reputation over several decades, combining consistent growth, national capability and multiple industry accolades with a culture that remains personable, entrepreneurial and client focused.

The role represents a key strategic hire and sits firmly at leadership level. The incoming Audit Partner will join the senior team with a clear remit to help shape and accelerate the development of the audit practice. It is an outward-facing position, well suited to an individual who enjoys being active in the market, developing senior relationships and enhancing brand visibility. The firm is keen to strengthen its profile across a range of sectors including manufacturing, wholesale, charities and financial services, primarily supporting owner-managed and mid-market organisations.

Alongside responsibility for a selective, high-quality client portfolio, the emphasis of the role is on growth and long-term positioning. The successful candidate will play a central role in expanding the audit offering, contributing to go-to-market strategy and supporting the development of a cohesive national audit team. Business development will be a core component, requiring the ability to identify opportunities, convert new instructions and build trusted relationships with clients, prospects and professional referrers at a senior level.

The Audit Partner will also work closely with fellow partners to influence firm-wide strategy, leadership and culture, ensuring audit remains aligned with the broader ambitions of the business. Developing and mentoring teams is a key expectation, with a focus on nurturing talent, maintaining high technical standards and creating a positive, high-performance environment.
