Corporate Tax Advisory Leader

We are working with a dynamic and fast-growing professional services firm seeking an experienced Corporate Tax Advisory leader to strengthen and shape its tax offering in either London or Birmingham. This is a key strategic hire at Senior Manager, Director, or Partner level, offering the opportunity to take on a highly visible, market-facing leadership role.
With a well-established national footprint and a diverse client base spanning owner-managed businesses, large corporates, and a strong presence in the sports and entertainment sectors, the firm is now looking to enhance its advisory capability and leadership depth within Corporate Tax.
The current tax team is heavily compliance-led, with a limited number of advisory specialists. As such, there is a clear mandate to grow the advisory offering, expand capability, and drive higher-value work across the practice.

The Role

This is a pivotal leadership role, with responsibility for:

• Acting as a market-facing Corporate Tax specialist, building and deepening client relationships
• Leading the development of the firm's Corporate Tax advisory offering
• Driving growth across key areas including international tax, M&A, and sector-specific advisory (particularly entertainment)
• Supporting the transition of the team from a compliance-focused model to a more advisory-led approach
• Collaborating with senior leadership to build out service lines and future strategy
• Mentoring and developing a growing team, fostering capability and a high-performance culture
• Contributing to business development and origination, both regionally and nationally

The Team

• Current Corporate Tax team includes Managers, newly qualified professionals, and junior staff
• Advisory capability currently sits with a small number of specialists, presenting a significant growth opportunity
• Offices across London, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, and Glasgow provide access to a broad client base and internal network

The Candidate

We are keen to speak with well-rounded Corporate Tax professionals who bring:

• Strong Corporate Tax advisory experience (firm background flexible)
• A commercial, client-focused mindset with the ability to operate as a visible market leader
• Broad technical expertise across corporate tax, with exposure to areas such as international tax, deals/M&A, and owner-managed businesses
• A passion for developing teams and building capability
• Proven ability to build relationships and win work
• The gravitas and leadership skills required to operate at a senior level within a growing firm
