The Opportunity - Luton
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and client-focused Tax Manager to join the Corporate Tax team of a prestigious Top 10 firm in Luton. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building long-term client relationships and acting as a trusted adviser to mid-market and private businesses across the region.
The Luton office plays a key role within the firm's Private and Mid-Market practice, working closely with entrepreneurial, owner-managed and PE-backed businesses. You will work with an established and growing client base, deepening existing relationships while identifying opportunities to broaden the services provided. Relationship management, client engagement and service excellence sit at the heart of this role.
As the firm continues to invest significantly in its Private and Mid-Market offering, we are looking for an individual who is passionate about client service and keen to contribute to the continued growth of the Luton practice.
Your key responsibilities

Act as a primary point of contact for clients, building trusted, long-term relationships and delivering a consistently high-quality client experience

Develop a deep understanding of clients' businesses, enabling you to proactively identify opportunities to add value

Drive relationship-led business development, expanding services to existing clients and supporting the acquisition of new clients

Lead the delivery of technically complex corporate tax engagements, ensuring advice is practical, commercial and tailored to client needs

Coach, mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a collaborative and client-centric team culture

Contribute to wider people initiatives, including talent development and retention within the Luton team

Strong Corporate Tax technical capability

Confident communicator, able to present clear, practical advice both verbally and in writing

Effective negotiator, comfortable handling challenge and differing viewpoints

Proven business development skills, particularly through existing client relationships

Excellent time management, able to manage competing priorities and deadlines

Experience advising a range of clients including listed, PE-backed, family-owned and owner-managed businesses
To qualify for the role you must have
-
ACA / CA / CTA / Tax Inspectors with full Technical Training course / Law qualification / relevant tax specialist qualification (or equivalent experience)

Strong corporate tax technical knowledge

Demonstrable experience of developing client relationships and generating new work

Experience coaching and developing junior team members
