Corporate Tax Manager - Reading

Role Overview

The Corporate Tax Manager leads the delivery of corporate tax advisory services to a diverse portfolio of corporate and owner-managed clients. The role involves ownership of key client relationships, leading complex advisory engagements, and providing strategic tax input on planning, structuring, and risk matters. Working closely with Partners and Directors, the Manager plays a key role in driving advisory work, supporting business development, and contributing to the management and development of the tax team and wider practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage key client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact and trusted adviser.

  • Lead and deliver complex corporate tax advisory projects, including structuring, planning, and technical analysis.

  • Oversee project delivery, resourcing, budgets, billing, and cash collection across the client portfolio.

  • Identify, develop, and convert advisory and business development opportunities in collaboration with Partners.

  • Manage, coach, and develop junior team members, ensuring high technical standards and quality delivery.

  • Provide technical leadership, identifying risks and advising clients and Partners on complex matters.

  • Lead HMRC interactions and support clients through enquiries and negotiations.

  • Ensure compliance with firm quality, risk, and governance standards.

  • Contribute to practice management initiatives and support the strategic objectives of the tax function.
