Corporate Tax Senior - Oxford - £45,000 to £55,000 + Hybrid Working
A growing Oxford accountancy practice is looking for a Corporate Tax Senior to join its tax team and take on a broad mix of corporate tax work.
This would suit someone who has already built a solid grounding in corporation tax and now wants a role where they can develop beyond pure compliance. You'll work with a varied client base, have direct contact with clients and gradually become involved in increasingly technical and advisory-led work.
The firm is open to candidates at different stages of their tax career, so you don't necessarily need to arrive as the finished article.
The role
You'll work across a portfolio of businesses ranging from entrepreneurial owner-managed companies through to larger and more complex corporate groups.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and reviewing corporation tax computations and returns
- Managing deadlines across a portfolio of corporate clients
- Dealing with HMRC correspondence and enquiries
- Building relationships directly with clients
- Identifying tax issues and opportunities as they arise
- Assisting senior members of the team with corporate tax planning and advisory assignments
- Supporting more junior colleagues with their development
- Taking on greater portfolio responsibility as your experience grows
Who would suit the role?
You could already be working as a Corporate Tax Senior, Tax Semi-Senior or experienced Tax Associate and looking for the next step.
You'll ideally have experience within an accountancy practice and be studying towards, or have completed, a relevant qualification such as ATT, CTA, ACA or ACCA.
They're also happy to consider someone from a broader accountancy background who has developed strong corporation tax experience and now wants to specialise.
You don't need to know everything on day one. They're looking for someone with a good technical foundation, strong attention to detail and the ambition to keep progressing.
Why consider it?
- £45,000 to £55,000, depending on experience
- Hybrid working
- Mix of corporate tax compliance and advisory work
- Direct exposure to clients
- Broad range of businesses and sectors
- Ongoing technical development
- Support towards professional qualifications where relevant
- Clear opportunity to progress into more senior positions
This is a strong option for someone who enjoys corporate tax but wants more ownership, more client exposure and a clearer route towards advisory work.
