Position: Full-time, Permanent

A premier Top 10 accountancy practice is seeking an Employment Tax Senior Manager to join its award-winning London practice. Sitting within a core advisory unit rather than a volume compliance hub, this role offers direct client access, exposure to complex technical consulting, and clear progression toward Director.

The Role

  • Advisory & Consulting: Lead on complex employment tax advisory projects, including employer NIC optimisation, mandatory payrolling of benefits transitions, off-payroll working/IR35 framework reviews, and executive remuneration structuring.

  • Client Relationship Management: Act as the primary, trusted point of contact for a diverse client portfolio spanning mid-market corporates, international groups, and high-growth businesses.

  • HMRC Risk & Governance: Advise clients on HMRC compliance reviews, PAYE/NMW health checks, settlement agreements (PSAs), and employment-related securities (ERS).

  • Team Leadership & Growth: Mentor and develop junior team members, assist partners with business development initiatives, and help expand the firm's regional employment tax footprint.

About You

  • Qualifications: CTA or ACA qualified.

  • Experience: 5+ years of specialist employment tax experience within a reputable accountancy or professional services practice.

  • Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of UK employment tax legislation, PAYE regulations, worker status/IR35, and reward structures.

  • Client & Commercial Focus: Track record of managing client relationships, identifying value-add advisory opportunities, and delivering commercially sound solutions.

What's On Offer

  • Competitive Package: Base salary of £80,000 - £95,000 (commensurate with experience) plus a comprehensive benefits package.

  • True Hybrid Flexibility: Modern, agile working framework tailored to individual balance.

  • Defined Progression: Transparent framework and partner backing to support progression to Director level.

  • Culture & Environment: A collaborative, partner-led team culture prioritising professional development and manageable workloads.
