A well-established accountancy practice in Brackley is looking for a General Practice Accountant to join their team.

This is a broad, hands-on role for someone who enjoys the variety of practice work rather than being pushed into one narrow corner. You will be working with a varied portfolio of clients, preparing accounts, handling tax work, reviewing bookkeeping and VAT where needed, and acting as a trusted point of contact for clients.

The firm is looking for someone who can come in, take ownership, and be a reliable pair of hands. You do not need to be the loudest person in the room, but you do need to be confident with clients, technically solid, and comfortable managing a mixed workload.

The role will include:

Preparing year-end accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships
Corporation tax and personal tax work
Client contact and relationship management
Reviewing bookkeeping, VAT and management accounts where required
Supporting junior team members
Helping clients with general advice and queries

The ideal person will have:

Recent experience in an accountancy practice
Strong accounts preparation experience
A good working knowledge of tax
Confidence dealing directly with clients
ACCA, ACA or AAT qualification would be useful, but QBE candidates will also be considered
