I'm working with a leading professional services firm who are looking to bring in a new Head of Tax Advisory to lead their corporate tax advisory business across Manchester and support growth across the wider North.
This is a unique opportunity to help shape and build a tax advisory offering, focusing on providing support to the Mid-Market.
This opportunity would suit an ambitious Senior Manager or Director who wants to take a step up, or a experienced Partner who really wants to put their own stamp on a service line.
Your new role:
- Lead the delivery of complex corporate tax advisory projects, providing strategic tax planning and commercial tax advice
- Advise clients on mergers, acquisitions, disposals, restructurings, and group reorganisations
- Provide guidance on international tax matters, cross-border transactions, and transfer pricing considerations
- Support clients with tax risk management, governance, and HMRC enquiries
- Advise on tax-efficient business structures, financing arrangements, and growth strategies
- Identify and maximise tax relief opportunities, including R&D tax credits, Patent Box, and capital allowances
- Build and maintain strong relationships with CFOs, Finance Directors, and business owners as a trusted adviser
- Lead business development activities, including networking, pitching, and growing advisory fee income
- Review and oversee technical tax advice, ensuring quality and compliance with legislation
- Manage, mentor, and develop tax managers and senior members of the team
To be successful in this role you'll need:
- Suitable qualification (CTA, ACA, ACCA, ATT)
- UK tax corporate tax experience, supporting OMB & SME style clients with tax advisory projects
- Previous experience running and managing corporate tax advisory teams & leading on complex engagements
