£100,000 - £120,000 + strong bonuses & benefits
A growing, specialist financial services business will be hiring an in-house Group Tax Manager to lead and manage the function through their next phase of growth and transformation.
Reporting directly to a senior finance leader - and collaborating closely with the wider Group Tax team - the successful candidate will take full operational ownership of the subsidiary-level tax function. This role balances managing tax strategy implementation, advisory, risk management, and the oversight of an outsourced compliance model.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a self-motivated Tax Manager with Head of Tax aspirations, providing senior-level exposure and all-encompassing tax focus with subsidiary-level ownership.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Oversight: Lead the implementation of localized tax strategies aligned with broader group commercial objectives.
- Advisory & Projects: Partner with the central Group Tax team on cross-border initiatives, ad-hoc planning, and complex tax provisioning.
- Compliance and reporting: Managing (outsourced) direct and indirect tax compliance and reporting, partnering with Big 4 advisors and maintaining a strong relationship with HMRC.
- Tax Transformation: Driving best-practice policies, process optimization and automation.
- Risk & Governance: Proactively monitor, manage, and scale the internal tax controls framework to insulate the business against emerging risks.
Candidate Profile
- ACA and/or CTA qualified with demonstrable post-qualified experience.
- Proven UK corporate tax background within Financial Services. Prior exposure to indirect and international tax structures considered advantageous.
- Open to candidates making their first move from a Top 10/Big 4 practice, or those already in-house.
- Highly adaptable, tech-proficient, and forward-thinking. Strong communication skills, able to articulate tax risk to non-tax specialists and overseas teams.
- Right to work permanently in the UK without sponsorship requirements.
