Indirect Tax Technology Senior Manager

Location: Birmingham/ Hybrid

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Indirect Tax Technology Senior Manager to join a market-leading Tax Technology practice at a time of significant growth and investment.

With businesses facing increasing compliance obligations, evolving digital reporting requirements and a greater need for automation, this team is helping clients transform the way they manage their Indirect Tax compliance. As a Senior Manager, you'll play a key role in leading large-scale technology-enabled compliance transformation projects, developing client relationships and driving the continued growth of the practice.

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Indirect Tax professional who combines strong technical VAT knowledge with a passion for technology, automation and process improvement.

The Role

As an Indirect Tax Technology Senior Manager, you will:

• Lead the delivery of complex Indirect Tax technology and compliance transformation projects for a broad range of clients.
• Advise businesses on the design, implementation and optimisation of technology solutions that enhance VAT compliance, reporting and governance.
• Work closely with finance, tax and technology stakeholders to improve processes, automate manual tasks and create more efficient compliance frameworks.
• Oversee the implementation and enhancement of tax engines, compliance platforms and ERP tax functionality.
• Support clients in responding to evolving digital tax requirements and regulatory changes.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on Indirect Tax technology matters.
• Drive business development activity, identify opportunities within existing client portfolios and contribute to the growth strategy of the team.
• Lead, mentor and develop Managers and junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.

About You

You'll ideally have:

• Significant experience in Indirect Tax, VAT compliance and/or Tax Technology.
• Experience leading technology-enabled tax compliance or transformation projects.
• Strong knowledge of tax technology solutions, tax engines and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Vertex, ONESOURCE or similar platforms.
• A commercial mindset with experience managing senior stakeholder and client relationships.
• Proven leadership experience with the ability to coach, develop and inspire teams.
• CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification (preferred but not essential).
• Excellent communication, project management and problem-solving skills.
