Internal Audit Lead

Senior Auditor | 6-12 months | £550 per day Umbrella | London | Hybrid

For a large rail and transport organisation based in London, we are recruiting 3 Senior Auditors for 6-12 months. The interim roles will deliver all aspects of internal audit assignments, portfolio-level strategic planning, senior stakeholder management and assurance. The Senior Auditors will support the Executive with the annual audit opinion and effectiveness of governance, risk management and control processes for the provision of a first-class internal audit service.

Main Duties:

• Plan and deliver individual audit and advisory assignments
• Contribute to the overall audit strategy and assurance process on the adequacy, reliability and effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes
• Represent Internal Audit on internal programme and project boards to advise on risk and control issues, and support programme and project management standards
• Deliver draft and final reports in line with deadlines, keeping sponsors and stakeholders informed
• Liaise and coordinate with external audit partners
• Produce and deliver presentations and briefings for the Executive and senior leaders across the organisation

Person Specification:

• Accountancy or Internal Audit qualification
• Proven track-record in Risk and Assurance
• Ideally Internal Audit experience from the Public Sector, Rail or Transport
• Strong report writing skills and strong presentation skills
• Internal Audit practices (COSO, IIA)
• Proven track record in Program and Project Assurance and managing Risk
• Programme and Project Assurance skills
• Very strong report writing and communication / presentation skills
