Director - International Tax | Big 4 | London

An exciting opportunity has arisen within a leading International Tax team based in London, advising multinational groups on an increasingly complex and evolving global tax landscape. This high-profile team works with some of the world's largest and most sophisticated organisations, helping them navigate international tax challenges and opportunities.
Due to continued growth and increasing client demand, the team is seeking an experienced Director to play a key role in the development of the practice. The successful individual will enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and will be supported by an ambitious leadership team committed to investing in talent and growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a portfolio of multinational clients, delivering high-quality international tax advisory services across areas including group structuring, refinancings, legal entity simplification, transaction-related reorganisations, tax authority enquiries and technical support for wider tax teams.
• Drive client relationship management activities, identifying opportunities to deepen existing relationships and create new business opportunities across the market.
• Advise on complex international tax matters, including cross-border structuring, operating model transformation, business reorganisations and the implications of global tax developments such as BEPS 2.0.
• Maintain strong technical expertise across relevant international tax legislation and effectively communicate complex concepts to clients, colleagues and senior stakeholders. Experience of key overseas tax regimes relevant to multinational groups is highly desirable.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, coordinating teams across jurisdictions and service lines to deliver exceptional client outcomes.
• Contribute to the strategic direction of the practice, adapting service offerings in line with changing client requirements and international tax developments.
• Promote robust risk management and compliance standards, ensuring quality and governance are embedded throughout all client engagements.
• Lead business development initiatives, leveraging market knowledge, professional networks and client relationships to generate new opportunities.
• Develop and mentor team members, fostering an inclusive, collaborative and high-performing culture.
• Act as a role model, demonstrating leadership, integrity and a commitment to the firm's values.

Required Skills and Experience

• ACA, CA, CTA, ACCA or equivalent qualified, with a strong foundation in corporate tax and accounting principles.
• Proven experience in international tax advisory within a Big 4, Top 10 or similarly respected professional services environment.
• Strong technical knowledge covering international tax, cross-border structuring, corporate tax advisory and tax risk management.
• Demonstrable experience leading complex client engagements and managing senior stakeholder relationships.
• Commercially minded, with the ability to translate technical tax advice into clear, practical and value-adding business solutions.
• A proactive approach to identifying opportunities, driving growth and developing long-term client relationships.
• Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience operating within multi-jurisdictional tax environments and coordinating international projects across multiple territories.
