Entrepreneurial Tax Senior Manager / Director

Milton Keynes | £85,000-£115,000

This is not a standard mixed tax role.

A leading Top 15 accountancy firm is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Manager or Director into its Entrepreneurial Tax team.

The opportunity is predominantly advisory-focused and offers genuine scope to shape the remit around the successful individual, rather than stepping into a rigid job description.

The work

You'll advise a broad entrepreneurial client base including:

  • Owner-managed businesses
  • Private groups
  • Shareholders
  • HNW individuals
  • Family-owned enterprises

The advisory work spans the full lifecycle of a business and its owners, including:

  • Shareholder and OMB planning
  • Corporate restructures and reorganisations
  • M&A
  • Succession planning
  • Remuneration strategies
  • CGT and IHT
  • Property and stamp taxes
  • International tax
  • Wider strategic tax advisory

The opportunity

This is a senior, visible role where you'll work closely with Tax Partners and specialists across the wider firm.

You'll be expected to manage key client relationships, provide technical leadership, mentor and develop the team, identify new advisory opportunities and contribute to the continued growth of the Entrepreneurial Tax offering.

There is also a genuine succession element behind the hire, so this is not simply a speculative growth vacancy.

The firm has an established need at both Senior Manager and Director level and is open-minded about exactly where the right person fits.

Who could suit this?

You could be:

  • An existing Director looking for a stronger platform, broader client exposure and a more collaborative environment
  • A strong Senior Manager already operating beyond title and ready to step up

The key is breadth.

They are looking for someone technically strong across entrepreneurial tax matters, commercially minded, confident dealing directly with business owners and senior stakeholders, and comfortable operating across both corporate and personal tax issues rather than being confined to one narrow specialism.

Business development

There is a BD element, but this is not about turning up with a portable book of clients.

It is much more about:

  • Spotting opportunities within existing relationships
  • Developing referral networks
  • Contributing to pitches
  • Building trusted relationships
  • Helping drive the wider advisory offering forward

Location & hybrid working

There is flexibility across Milton Keynes and Northampton.

The hybrid model is broadly:

3 days in the office / 2 days from home

Milton Keynes is likely to be an important base because of where much of the team sits, but there is scope for flexibility depending on the individual.

Salary

£85,000-£115,000, depending on level and experience.

For the right Director-level individual, £100,000+ basic is achievable.

Why consider it?

If you're currently operating at Senior Manager or Director level and want a role where you can genuinely influence the direction of the tax offering, rather than simply inherit somebody else's job description, this is well worth a conversation.

No visa sponsorship available.
