A leading accountancy and advisory firm is seeking an experienced Audit Manager to join its specialist Not-for-Profit team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious ACA or ACCA qualified professional with strong charity and nonprofit audit experience to take ownership of a varied portfolio, work closely with senior stakeholders, and play a key role in developing both client relationships and junior team members.
What you will be doing as an NFP Audit Manager:
- Manage a portfolio of nonprofit and charity clients
- Act as the main day-to-day contact for clients
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Provide practical advice on technical accounting and audit matters
- Liaise with clients, HMRC and other professional advisers to ensure efficient service delivery
- Lead audit and accounts assignments from planning through to completion
- Plan, budget and resource engagements effectively
- Manage timelines and ensure delivery against agreed deadlines
- Delegate work and oversee team performance throughout assignments
- Monitor engagement progress and proactively resolve issues
- Review audit files, ensuring quality and compliance with relevant standards
- Deliver clear feedback and debriefs to team members
- Prepare assignments for Partner review
- Work closely with tax specialists and other service lines where required
What you will need to succeed as an NFP Audit Manager:
- ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
- Strong experience managing audit portfolios within the Not-for-Profit sector
- Proven charity and nonprofit audit experience
- Excellent knowledge of UK auditing and accounting standards
- Strong technical skills and attention to detail
- Effective project management and organisational skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Ability to lead, motivate and develop teams
- Commercially aware with an interest in business development
- Proactive, adaptable and solutions-focused approach
