The role

As an Outsourcing Semi Senior, you'll play a key part in supporting a wide range of clients with their accounting needs. Working as part of the firm's growing outsourcing team, you'll get involved in management accounts, VAT, payment runs and forecasting. You'll have the chance to develop strong client relationships while building on your technical expertise in a practice environment.

This role sits just below senior level and is ideal for someone with around three years' practice experience who is ready to take on more responsibility.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare management accounts from client records
• Post sales, purchase, bank and journal entries
• Reconcile control accounts and produce accurate reports
• Assist with VAT returns, highlighting unusual items for review
• Review bookkeeping and VAT work completed by junior staff
• Communicate with clients to resolve queries and finalise work
• Train clients on Xero, Sage, QuickBooks and other systems

About you

• At least 3 years' experience in an accountancy practice outsourcing or management accounts role
• Strong knowledge of VAT and HMRC MTD requirements
• Confident user of Xero, Sage and QuickBooks
• Excellent communication skills and client-facing ability
• IT literate with solid Excel knowledge
• Able to work independently and manage your own deadlines
