Your new firm: Our client is one of the UK's top 10 fastest growing accountancy firms, with a heritage dating back to 1881. Following continued growth in their Newcastle Private Client Tax team, they are now looking to appoint an Assistant Manager to join a collaborative and high performing team.
Your new role: As a Private Client Tax Assistant Manager, you will take responsibility for managing the compliance process for your own portfolio of clients including high net worth individuals, partnerships and trusts. You'll work closely with Partners, taking ownership of complex compliance work while supervising and supporting junior team members.
Day to day you'll be preparing and reviewing tax returns, managing HMRC enquiries, drafting correspondence on technical matters and ensuring all client deadlines and elections are met. This is a compliance focused role with real variety across a diverse and interesting client base.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and reviewing tax returns across a portfolio of HNWIs, partnerships and trusts
- Preparing complex tax computations and supervising preparation of simpler computations
- Managing HMRC enquiries and drafting technical correspondence
- Monitoring time limits, elections and deadlines across your compliance portfolio
- Supervising and supporting junior tax staff
- Managing billing and monitoring budgets
- Assisting Partners with fee quotes and business development
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- ACA and / or CTA qualification
- Strong knowledge of private client and partnership tax
- Experience managing a compliance portfolio including HNWIs, partnerships or trusts
- Excellent written communication skills for client and HMRC correspondence
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to liaise confidently with clients and colleagues
