Private Client Tax Senior / Assistant Manager - West End

£45,000-£55,000 | Boutique London Practice | Hybrid Working

Looking for more advisory exposure and a genuine opportunity to progress?

I'm working with a well-established independent accountancy practice in London's West End that's looking for a Private Client Tax Senior or Assistant Manager to join its growing team.

The opportunity has arisen following an internal promotion, and the firm is open to considering a strong Senior or Supervisor who's ready to take the next step, as well as someone already operating at Assistant Manager level.

With a particularly interesting client base spanning HNW individuals, entrepreneurial families, international clients and the music and entertainment sector, this is an excellent opportunity to develop your technical expertise and take on greater responsibility.

The Firm & Team

Established over 70 years ago, this multi-partner practice advises a broad range of owner-managed businesses and private clients, many of whom have worked with the firm for generations.

You'll join a close-knit Private Client Tax team of around 12, working alongside experienced Managers and directly with a Director and Partner.

The firm combines the personal, collaborative feel of an independent practice with the quality and complexity of work you'd typically associate with much larger firms.

The Opportunity

You'll take responsibility for a portfolio of approximately 100 private clients, with the level of autonomy tailored to your experience.

The work offers a varied mix of compliance and advisory, including:

  • HNW individuals, entrepreneurs and internationally connected families.
  • Complex personal tax, including non-domiciled and non-long-term resident clients.
  • UK and offshore trusts, international wealth structures and cross-border matters.
  • Inheritance Tax, estate and succession planning.
  • Music and entertainment clients, including artists and individuals receiving royalty and IP income.

You'll also be involved in reviewing personal, partnership and trust tax returns, handling client queries, liaising with HMRC and supporting the development of junior colleagues.

Importantly, there's scope to build your advisory experience while working closely with experienced senior members of the team.

About You

We're keen to speak to Private Client Tax Seniors, Supervisors and Assistant Managers who have a strong grounding in UK personal tax and are looking to continue developing their careers.

Ideally, you'll have:

  • Experience in Private Client Tax within accountancy practice.
  • CTA qualification or be working towards it.
  • A good understanding of UK personal tax compliance.
  • An interest in developing your advisory and client management experience.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.

Exposure to trusts, international private clients, IHT or non-dom matters would be particularly useful, but you don't need to have experience across every area.

Familiarity with CCH would be helpful, although it's not essential.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

Progression: The vacancy has arisen through an internal promotion, demonstrating the opportunity to develop within the team.

Interesting clients: Work with HNW individuals, entrepreneurial families, international clients and people working across music and entertainment.

Technical development: Build your experience across trusts, IHT, offshore structures and international private client advisory.

Direct senior exposure: Work closely with experienced Managers, a Director and Partner in a team of around 12.

Boutique environment: Enjoy the variety and complexity of a larger practice without losing the collaborative feel of a smaller firm.

Salary & Benefits

  • £45,000-£55,000 depending on experience.
  • Hybrid working, with approximately 1-2 days from home.
  • Study support through Kaplan, where applicable.
  • Regular social events and a supportive team environment.
  • West End London location.

Interested?

If you're a Private Client Tax Senior looking to take the next step, or an Assistant Manager who'd like more interesting clients and greater advisory exposure, I'd be happy to tell you more.
