Private Client Tax Director - Family Office

Location: Central London / Hybrid (~50% office-based)

Salary: £100,000 - £130,000 + Benefits

The Private Client Tax Director Opportunity

Are you a Private Client Tax Senior Manager ready for the next step towards Partnership, or an established Director looking to join a growing specialist team?

I am working with a leading Top 10 accountancy and tax advisory firm in Central London to appoint a Private Client Tax Director into its specialist Trust & Family Office practice.

This is a technical, advisory-focused role working directly alongside a highly respected Trust Partner. You will advise HNW/UHNW families, family offices, trustees, and international wealth structures, with approximately 50% of the team's portfolio involving non-UK and offshore matters.

The wider Private Client division numbers around 70 professionals. It offers the ideal balance: the technical profile and complex client base of a top-tier firm, combined with an agile, collaborative culture free from Big 4 bureaucracy.

The Private Client Tax Director Role

  • Client Leadership: Lead a high-quality portfolio of HNW/UHNW clients, family offices, and complex trust structures.
  • Advisory Delivery: Provide high-level technical advice across IHT, trust taxation, estate planning, offshore holding structures, and cross-border planning.
  • Practice Growth: Work alongside Partners to develop existing client relationships and identify new advisory opportunities across the market.
  • Portfolio & Team Management: Oversee portfolio economics (billing, WIP, resourcing) while mentoring Senior Managers and junior team members.
  • Strategic Input: Play an active role in shaping the commercial direction and growth of the Trust & Family Office team.

What We Are Looking For

  • ACA, CTA, or STEP qualified with substantial post-qualification experience in a reputable practice environment.
  • Deep technical expertise in private client tax, with specialist knowledge in trust taxation, IHT, and estate planning.
  • Exposure to non-UK resident/domiciled clients, international trusts, or cross-border structures is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to build trusted client relationships, delegate effectively, and mentor rising talent.
  • Currently operating at Senior Manager or Director level, with the capability and drive to progress towards Partnership.

Why Consider This Role?

  • Sophisticated Work: High exposure to complex international trust structures, multi-generational wealth, and family office advisory.
  • Direct Partner Access: Work alongside market-leading specialists in a close-knit team with zero internal politics.
  • True Collaboration: Join a connected 70-person division where private client teams co-advise rather than work in silos.
  • Realistic Route to Partner: Structured mentorship and personal coaching tailored to help you plot your path to Partner.
  • Modern Working Culture: Genuine hybrid setup (~50% office presence) with flexible core hours.

Package & Benefits

  • Base Salary: £100,000 - £130,000 (dependent on experience)
  • Bonus: Annual performance-related bonus
  • Benefits: 30 days annual leave (+ bank holidays & buy/sell option), Private Medical Insurance, Permanent Health Insurance, 4x Life Assurance, Group Personal Pension, and flexible benefits portal.

If you are evaluating your route to Partner or looking for a more dynamic, advisory-led platform, I would be glad to talk you through the firm and role in more detail.
