Private Client Tax Director - Family Office

Central London | Hybrid Working | £100,000-£130,000 + Excellent Benefits

The Opportunity | Trust & Family Office

Are you a Private Client Tax Senior Manager ready to step into a Director role, or an established Director looking for a more specialist platform and a genuine route towards Partnership?

This is an outstanding opportunity to join the Trust & Family Office team of a leading Top 10 accountancy and tax advisory firm, working closely with a highly regarded Partner on some of the most sophisticated private client work in the market.

The role offers a strong blend of technical advisory work, client leadership and strategic responsibility, advising HNW and UHNW families, family offices, trustees and complex international wealth structures.

With approximately 50% of the team's portfolio involving non-UK and offshore matters, this is a particularly attractive opportunity for someone looking to deepen their exposure to international private client, trusts and cross-border wealth planning.

The Opportunity

You will join a specialist Trust & Family Office practice within a wider Private Client division of around 70 professionals.

The team works with a sophisticated client base spanning multi-generational families, family offices, trustees and internationally mobile individuals, advising on complex trust and estate structures across the UK and internationally.

Working directly alongside a highly respected Trust Partner, you will have significant exposure to complex advisory matters while also playing an important role in the continued development and growth of the practice.

The firm offers the scale, technical capability and quality of client work associated with a leading accountancy practice, while maintaining a collaborative and entrepreneurial environment where senior individuals can genuinely influence the direction of the team.

For the right person, this is also a credible route towards Partnership.

The Role

As Private Client Tax Director, you will take a leading role across both client delivery and the continued development of the Trust & Family Office practice.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading complex client relationships across a portfolio of HNW and UHNW individuals, families, family offices and trust structures.

  • Providing high-level private client tax and wealth planning advice, including IHT, trust taxation, estate and succession planning.

  • Advising on complex international and offshore structures, including cross-border tax and wealth planning matters.

  • Working closely with the Trust Partner on significant and technically challenging advisory projects.

  • Identifying opportunities to deepen existing client relationships and develop additional advisory work.

  • Taking responsibility for the commercial management of the portfolio, including billing, WIP, resourcing and profitability.

  • Leading, mentoring and developing Senior Managers and junior members of the team.

  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider Private Client practice and other specialist teams.

  • Playing an active role in the strategic development and continued growth of the Trust & Family Office offering.

What We're Looking For

This role would suit an ambitious Senior Manager ready to step into a Director position, or an established Director looking for a more specialist and internationally focused private client platform.

You will ideally have:

  • ACA, CTA and/or STEP qualification, or equivalent relevant professional experience.

  • Significant experience within a reputable accountancy, tax or professional services environment.

  • Strong technical expertise across private client tax, trusts, IHT and estate or succession planning.

  • Experience advising sophisticated HNW and UHNW clients.

  • Exposure to international private client matters, non-UK resident clients, offshore trusts or cross-border structures.

  • The ability to build trusted, long-term relationships with clients and professional intermediaries.

  • Strong leadership skills, with experience delegating effectively and developing junior talent.

  • A commercial mindset and an interest in contributing to the growth and direction of a specialist practice.

Most importantly, you will have the credibility, technical capability and ambition to operate at Director level and build towards Partnership.
