A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join the national R&D Tax team of a highly respected Top 15 accountancy firm, with the flexibility to be based in either their Manchester or Leeds office.

With a long-standing reputation for technical excellence and high-quality client service, the firm offers the chance to work across a wide-ranging portfolio of clients, supporting innovative UK businesses with their R&D tax relief claims.

This role is perfect for an experienced R&D tax professional looking to take the next step in their career, with a clear path to further progression in a collaborative and supportive environment.

As an R&D Tax Manager, you will:

  • Lead the delivery of R&D tax relief claims across a variety of sectors, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance with HMRC guidance.
  • Work closely with senior colleagues in R&D, corporate tax, audit, and accounts teams to deliver a joined-up service.
  • Attend and support client meetings, confidently discussing complex R&D issues and opportunities.
  • Liaise with HMRC on queries and support clients through the claims process.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Demonstrable experience managing R&D tax claims, including technical writing and HMRC liaison.
