An established and growing accountancy practice is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Client Manager to join its Droylsden office.

This is a key role within the continued development of the Droylsden office, offering an experienced ACA or ACCA qualified accountant the opportunity to take ownership of a growing portfolio, lead an established team and play a significant role in the future growth of the office.

There is also a clear pathway towards Director and potentially Partner level as the office continues to develop.

What you will be doing as a Senior Client Manager:

As Senior Client Manager, you will act as a trusted adviser to a portfolio of corporate and owner-managed businesses, taking responsibility for the quality of work delivered while providing leadership to the local team.

You will work closely with the Partner/Director and will have a broad remit covering accounts, tax, client management, team leadership and commercial development.

• Managing a portfolio of corporate and owner-managed clients
• Acting as the primary point of contact and developing strong, long-term client relationships
• Reviewing and finalising statutory year-end accounts and management accounts
• Reviewing corporate tax computations and personal self-assessment tax returns
• Identifying opportunities for tax planning and advisory work
• Providing commercially focused advice to clients and helping them achieve their business objectives
• Managing and developing a team of accounting professionals based in the Stockport office
• Overseeing workflow and delegation to ensure deadlines are consistently met
• Supporting the development and progression of junior and semi-senior team members
• Taking responsibility for portfolio billing, fee negotiations and recovery
• Monitoring WIP and ensuring assignments are completed efficiently and profitably
• Identifying opportunities to introduce additional advisory services to existing clients
• Supporting the wider growth and development of the Stockport office
• Working closely with Partners and Directors on business development and client acquisition

What you will need to succeed as a Senior Client Manager

• ACA or ACCA qualification
• Proven experience managing a portfolio of corporate clients
• Strong technical knowledge of statutory accounts and tax
• Experience reviewing corporate tax and personal tax work
• Previous experience managing or mentoring junior members of staff
• Strong client relationship and communication skills
• Good commercial awareness, including experience with billing, WIP and recovery
• The confidence to identify business development and cross-selling opportunities
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities A professional, collaborative and commercially aware approach
