Senior Manager - VAT Advisory

Leading Practice | London / Hybrid | £95,000 + Excellent Benefits

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced VAT specialist to join a leading practice as Senior Manager, leading and developing its VAT advisory offering across four offices.

This is a predominantly client-facing advisory role, providing commercially focused advice on complex VAT matters, transactions and business structures, with oversight of selected high-value compliance work.

You will act as a senior technical adviser to clients and colleagues, lead strategic VAT projects and play a key role in growing the firm's VAT advisory client base.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the firm's VAT advisory offering, providing expert guidance on complex technical matters.
• Advise on VAT grouping, partial exemption, land and property, corporate transactions, restructuring and international VAT.
• Support clients with HMRC enquiries, disputes, disclosures and technical negotiations.
• Conduct VAT health checks, identifying risks, recovery opportunities and improvements to controls.
• Develop client relationships and generate new business through pitches, proposals and collaboration with other service lines.
• Work closely with Corporate Tax, Audit, Corporate Finance and Due Diligence teams to identify opportunities.
• Mentor colleagues and oversee complex, high-value VAT compliance assignments.

About You

You will have significant VAT experience gained in public practice, HMRC or a similar advisory environment, with a strong track record in complex VAT advisory work.

You will combine excellent technical knowledge with commercial awareness, strong communication skills and the ability to build trusted client relationships.

You will also be proactive, hands-on and collaborative, with experience in project leadership and business development. International VAT experience and CTA or a recognised VAT qualification would be advantageous.

The Package

Salary: £95,000 plus excellent benefits.

Location: London, with hybrid working.
