Looking for a tax role that's a little different from the traditional accountancy practice environment?
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing specialist advisory firm that provides tax, accounting and business management services to clients across the music, entertainment and creative industries.
Working with a client base that includes record labels, artists, singers, bands, DJs, actors, artist managers and entertainment businesses, you'll gain exposure to a wide range of personal and corporate tax matters while supporting some of the most recognisable names in the industry.
Salary: Up to £62,000, with flexibility for the right individual, plus an excellent benefits package and genuine long-term progression opportunities.
Supporting over 400 clients and continuing to grow, this is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Tax Senior, Assistant Tax Manager or Tax Manager looking to combine technical tax work with an exciting and varied client portfolio.
The Opportunity
Working closely with the Tax Director and wider leadership team, you'll manage a portfolio of personal and corporate tax clients, support advisory projects, review work prepared by junior team members and contribute to the ongoing development of the tax function.
This role offers a broad mix of compliance, advisory and client relationship management responsibilities. You'll also work closely with specialist business management, accounts and royalties teams, providing exposure to the wider commercial affairs of clients operating across the entertainment sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of personal and corporate tax clients.
- Review tax returns, computations and supporting schedules prepared by junior team members.
- Support tax advisory and planning assignments, including technical research and report preparation.
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, building strong long-term relationships and providing commercial advice.
- Identify tax planning opportunities and assist with the delivery of advisory solutions.
- Support workflow management, prioritisation of deadlines and allocation of work across the team.
- Coach, mentor and develop junior team members.
- Monitor and oversee personal and corporate tax compliance deadlines, including Self Assessment, Corporation Tax, CGT, ATED, P11Ds and ERS returns.
- Deliver internal tax training sessions.
- Liaise closely with accounts teams, business management teams and senior stakeholders.
- Ensure all work is completed to a high technical standard and within agreed deadlines.
About You
You will be a technically strong and client-focused tax professional who enjoys building relationships and delivering high-quality advice.
Requirements
- ATT and/or CTA qualified.
- Ideally 5+ years' tax experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK personal and corporation tax.
- Experience reviewing work prepared by junior team members.
- Proven ability to prepare and review advisory work and tax planning reports.
- Experience managing personal and corporate tax enquiries.
- Strong understanding of UK tax legislation and UK GAAP.
- Experience preparing and reviewing Self Assessment, Corporation Tax, CGT, ATED, P11D and ERS returns.
- Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- A proactive, collaborative and commercially minded approach.
