Senior Manager / Director
Global Compliance & Transformation
Big 4 - London
I am proud to be representing a Big 4 Global Compliance & Transformation (GCT) team in their search for a Senior Manager or Director to join their London team. This team helps multinational groups and financial services clients manage complex global tax compliance, reporting and statutory accounting obligations through outsourcing, co-sourcing, transformation and technology.
Combining deep tax technical expertise with technology and data-led solutions, the team helps clients improve compliance, controls, efficiency and risk management, while developing sustainable, technology-enabled tax operating models.
As the team continues to grow, this is an opportunity to work with a diverse and technically complex portfolio of clients, from large domestic and FTSE-listed groups to multinational organisations across sectors including financial services, real estate and public sector.
More about the role:
  • We are looking for an experienced tax professional with strong tax compliance technical expertise, excellent client skills and a commercial mindset.
  • You will lead complex tax compliance and reporting engagements, manage senior client relationships, develop high-performing teams and identify opportunities to improve client's tax processes, controls and operating models.
  • The role combines technical tax leadership, client delivery, people management and business development, with significant exposure to tax transformation, technology and global compliance.
Key responsibilities
  • Lead a portfolio of clients, taking responsibility for the accurate, timely and efficient delivery of corporate tax compliance, tax reporting and related services.
  • Lead outsourced and co-sourced tax compliance and reporting engagements, including group and statutory tax reporting under IFRS, US GAAP and relevant UK accounting frameworks.
  • Provide high-quality technical advice on complex corporate tax matters, legislation and tax accounting, working with specialists where required.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders and act as a strategic adviser on tax compliance, reporting, risk and transformation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve client's tax processes, controls and operating models through technology, data, automation and process improvement.
  • Analyse complex technical issues and develop practical, commercially focused solutions.
  • Collaborate across tax, accounting, technology and transformation teams to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Lead, coach and develop teams, providing technical guidance, performance management and support for career development.
  • Manage engagement delivery, quality, risk and commercial performance in line with professional standards and best practice.
  • Support clients with broader tax reporting and transformation initiatives, including evolving global requirements such as Pillar 2.
Knowledge, experience and skills
  • Significant experience and strong technical knowledge of UK corporate tax compliance, tax reporting and legislation.
  • Strong understanding of tax accounting, including FRS 101, FRS 102 and IFRS, with experience of US GAAP desirable.
  • Experience leading complex client engagements, ideally within outsourced, co-sourced or managed service environments.
  • Ability to analyse complex tax issues and communicate technical conclusions clearly and commercially.
  • Experience working with multinational groups and/or clients with complex tax profiles and reporting requirements.
  • Understanding of how technology, data, automation and operating-model transformation can enhance tax compliance and reporting.
  • Strong commercial awareness, with a proven ability to identify client needs and develop new opportunities.
  • Proven experience leading, coaching and developing high-performing teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders while maintaining technical quality and client service.
